Quick Recap
The party traveled with Durren’s caravan from Ferriero toward Feymott. Along the way they avoided trouble with Oaken Ring druids, dealt with a sabotaged wagon and giant weasels, discovered an ancient alder stone circle, and finally arrived in the grain city of Feymott.
Summary
Road to Feymott
The party traveled with Durren’s mule caravan on a six-day journey toward Feymott. The caravan included three wagons and drovers named Marta, Oren, and Brida. On the road, another traveler warned them about “ring types” — druids of the Oaken Ring who harass travelers and oppose magic. The party kept a low profile and avoided direct conflict.
Wagon Sabotage and Giant Weasels
On the fourth day, the middle wagon’s wheel was damaged by a trap: a tree branch rigged to snap forward and break the wheel. Giant weasels appeared near the tree line. Halvor spotted movement in a tree and cast Dispel Magic, revealing two red caps who had been enchanting or directing the animals.
Once revealed, the red caps rode away on the weasels, mockingly waving their backsides at the party. Durren and the drovers replaced the damaged wheel, costing the caravan an hour or two.
The Alder Stone Circle
While the caravan camped, Halvor noticed a nearby copse of alder trees and investigated with Gore and Frankie. They discovered an old moss-covered stone circle with Elvish writing on four stones. Frankie used Comprehend Languages to read the inscriptions:
- North: “Name the maker”
- East: “Name what is sealed away”
- South: “Let none pass bearing silence where truth is owed”
- West: “Name the keeper”
The party concluded that something had been sealed away there and wisely decided not to interfere.
Arrival in Feymott
The group reached Feymott, a utilitarian trading city of more than 10,000 people built on a hill. The city is dominated by grain trade, windmills, silos, and fine grain dust. The population is mostly human, with a noticeable dwarf minority involved in trade and heavy materials.
Durren paid the party for their guard work and recommended the Harrow Sheaf inn.
Notices at the Harrow Sheaf
At the inn, the party found notices about mill work, wagon congestion, a lost dog named Tansy, a Mavros vigil for northbound travelers, unlicensed texts, fake river pearls, and rumors of screaming from the Green Tiles area.
Meeting Tavish
The party met Tavish, a small ginger-bearded person who lives under a table at the inn and monitors the beer supply in exchange for meals and drink. Tavish shared local gossip about the Green Tiles area, complaints about the Oaken Ring, and a “shiny thing” that had walked through town some time ago.
Next Steps
- Deliver the waxed linen package to the candle shop behind the second grain house in the mill quarter.
- Find passage or a caravan toward Friula.
- Consider investigating the Green Tiles area.
- Possibly return to investigate the alder stone circle later.
