Summary
Navigating the Challenging Maze Passage
The party navigates a challenging section of the maze, crossing a windy shaft using a rope. Rock makes an impressive leap across, while others use various methods to traverse safely. On the other side, they find a corridor with a door leading to a steep, web-filled passage. The group discusses their next moves and begins helping their kobold and gnoll companions cross the shaft. Dresh, the lead kobold, expresses frustration with the party’s vague descriptions of what lies ahead.
Dangerous Trap and Fused Construct
The group encounters a dangerous trap in a corridor filled with webs. Frankie uses Flame Bolt to clear the webs, revealing small spiders. Gore volunteers to go first and triggers a mechanism that causes a massive pile of weapons and armor to start rolling towards them from the other end of the corridor. Gore quickly warns the others to get out of the way. The group then faces a large humanoid construct made of fused weapons, armor, and other metal pieces, both ancient and newer.
Battle Against Armored Construct
The group continues their battle against a large armored construct. Rock, Halvor, Splinter, Gore, and Vyth all take turns attacking the construct, dealing varying amounts of damage. Frankie uses a firebolt and suggests pushing the construct into an open shaft behind it. A large cobalt ally joins the fight, attempting to grapple and dismantle the construct. Splinter lands a critical hit, and there is discussion about applying sneak attack damage. Meanwhile, Halvor expresses concern about the cobalt throwing pieces of the construct down the shaft, potentially creating hazards for the group later.
Exploring the Maze and Minotaur Encounter
The group continues exploring the maze, entering a circular room filled with rusty armor and weapons. They defeat an armory golem, which collapses into a pile of weapons and armor. The party searches through the remains, finding some usable daggers, swords, and shields to arm the Minotaurs. Frankie casts Detect Magic as a ritual, revealing faint magical residue on the golem’s remains and confirming that Halvor’s pearl ring is magical. Rock explores a sloped hallway while the others discuss checking the remaining rings on the door. The group prepares to investigate the top of the sloped corridor.
The group finds another stone doorway leading to a new corridor. Rock retrieves some daggers and unties a rope they had previously set up. The group debates about retrieving rings from a door but decides against it. As they re-enter the maze, a wall transforms into the face of a mad Minotaur, asking if they are kin of the Mharoti (Dragon Empire). The group denies any relation, with varying degrees of success in intimidating the Minotaur. The face eventually fades away, and the group prepares to continue their exploration in the next session.
